Not only is this my first attempt at making a blog post, but it is also a little bit about me and my first try at Author Mentor Match!
The Story
My project that I'll be submitting is CITY OF WATER AND METAL, a YA Steampunk Science Fiction novel!
Sixteen-year-old Rosemary Rooney has lived a sheltered life in the underwater city of Paradise, yet she keeps dreaming of a glowing orb above the city. But there’s no world outside Paradise, no matter how much she wants there to be. Desires like that are Disloyal and Rosemary tries her best to be a Loyal citizen. With her Disloyal parents long exiled by the Speaker, she clings to the only family she has left in her overprotective grandfather – until she is accused of murdering the mayor.
Hunted down in the only home she’s ever known, Rosemary is left utterly alone when her grandfather becomes another captured Disloyal. It’s then that she learns the truth: there is a world above their own that the people of Paradise have been brainwashed to forget – a world the Speaker will do anything to erase.
Joined by a group of vengeful teenagers hell-bent on killing the Speaker, she has an opportunity to rescue her grandfather and clear her name, but must risk losing the freedom she so desperately craves.

About Me
-I'm 22 and I've written four books
-I really started taking writing seriously with my third book, but while I did get some bites from agents it was through criticism from one that has inspired me to go back and rewrite it to make something better
-I LOVE video games more than life itself. I've been obsessing over Red Dead Redemption 2 since its release (seriously I've played it through six times)
-My favorite book of all time is hands down Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
-I love animals and hope to get a new dog this coming spring
-I'm obsessed with comic books and comic book movies
As A Mentee
-I am absolutely open to criticism, no matter how harsh. Over the years I have developed a nice, thick skin.
-There is no one that can be as hard on me as I am.
-I love being able to improve and find ways to make my stories better.
